CompTIA Server+ validates the knowledge and skills
of advanced IT technicians. It is an international, vendor-neutral
certification for individuals with experience with Industry Standard
Server Architecture (ISSA) technology, CompTIA Server+ certifies technical
knowledge in areas such as RAID, SCSI and multiple CPUs, as well as
capabilities with server issues, including disaster recovery. Although
not a prerequisite, it is recommended that CompTIA Server+ candidates
hold a CompTIA A+ certification.
As with all CompTIA qualifications the Server+ is one of the only
vendor neutral certifications, this means it is a well-rounded program,
which focuses more on the methodology and technology than a specific
brand or software. A great benefit of vendor-neutral certifications
is that they teach the technology as it is, benefits and flaws!
The server is the most vital part of any computer network. It controls
the file storage, connectivity and permissions. Companies need to
ensure that their servers are running efficiently as if they go down
it can cost the company a lot of money in lost data, wasted time and
lost business. By having a Server+ certification you are showing potential
companies that you have the skills needed to configure and maintain
their mission critical systems.
Key benefits for becoming CompTIA Server+ certified:
Proof of professional achievement, leading to better job opportunities.
